[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7915, February 23, 1995 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING THE BALICUATRO NATIONAL VOCATIONAL SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ALLEN, PROVINCE OF NORTHERN SAMAR, INTO A COLLEGE OF ARTS AND TRADES, TO BE KNOWN AS THE BALICUATRO COLLEGE OF ARTS AND TRADES, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Balicuatro National Vocational School in the Municipality of Allen, Province of Northern Samar, is hereby converted into a college of arts and trades, to be known as the Balicuatro College of Arts and Trades.

SEC. 2. The BaLicuatro College of Arts and Trades, which shall hereinafter referred to as the College, shall primarily provide higher technological professional, and vocational instruction and training in the fields of science, engineering, industrial education, and industry, as well as short-term technical and vocational courses, aside from its present secondary and post-secondary curricular offerings.

SEC. 3. The head of the College shall be known as the vocational school superintendent, who shall be appointed by the chairperson of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

SEC. 4. All assets of the Balicuatro National Vocational School, whether fixed or movable, records, and personnel are hereby transferred to the Balicuatro College of Arts and Trades.

SEC. 5. The chairperson of the TESDA is hereby directed to take necessary steps for the immediate implementation of this Act.

SEC. 6. The amount necessary for the implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriation of the Balicuatro National Vocational School. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 7. If any portion or provision of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity and effectivity of other provisions not affected thereby.

SEC. 8. All laws, decrees, executive orders, rules and regulations, and other issuances or parts thereof inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.

SEC. 9. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on February 16, 1995 and February 15, 1995, respectively.
