AN ACT CHANGING THE NAME OF THE PALAWAN NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ABORLAN, PROVINCE OF PALAWAN, TO STATE POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE OF PALAWAN AND AUTHORIZING THE SAME TO CONTINUE OFFERING ITS PRESENT COLLEGIATE COURSES AND TO OFFER OTHER COURSES IN SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION 1 OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED 3648



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The present Palawan National Agricultural College in the Municipality of Aborlan, Province of Palawan, is hereby converted into a state polytechnic college to be known as the State Polytechnic College of Palawan which will offer not only four-year secondary agricultural course, four-year secondary home economics, one-year farm mechanics, and other special courses but also two-year courses leading to the title of associate in agriculture and/or agricultural education and courses leading to the degrees of bachelor of science in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, bachelor of science in home economics, bachelor of science in agricultural education, master of science (with majors in the different agricultural sciences), and master of agricultural education. It shall also offer courses in arts, sciences and technology, and other related courses as the board of trustees of the state college may deem necessary to carry out its objectives: Provided, That the courses to be offered are consistent with the goals for local, regional and national development.

SEC. 2. The State Polytechnic College of Palawan is hereby authorized to continue offering its present collegiate courses and to offer other courses in arts, sciences and technology, and other related courses as the Board of Trustees of the state college may deem necessary to carry out its objectives: Provided, That the courses to be offered are consistent with the goals for local, regional and national development.

SEC. 3. Section 1 of Republic Act No. 3648 which relates to the name of the college is hereby amended accordingly.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

Lapsed into law on May 25, 1995 without the President's signature, pursuant to Sec. 27(1), Article VI of the Constitution.
