[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9065, April 05, 2001 ]
AN ACT CONVERTING THE SUB-DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE IN THE CITY OF ILIGAN INTO A REGULAR FULLY CONSTITUTED ENGINEERING DISTRICT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. Any provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, the Sub-Engineering District Office is hereby constituted into a regular engineering district. The municipalities comprising the first legislative district shall comprise the engineering district herein created.
SEC. 2. The engineering district herein created shall have a district engineer and other personnel appointed in accordance with existing laws and regulations. The office of the district engineer for the first legislative district shall be located in the City of Iligan.
SEC. 3. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
SEC. 4. The necessary assets, properties, personnel, records, projects and funds of the Sub-Engineering District are hereby transferred to the engineering district herein created without exception and unconditionally. All personnel are hereby deemed absorbed into the staff, with all rights and privileges carried over and these shall neither be diminished nor altered as a consequence of this Act.
SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on May 23, 2000 and December 11, 2000, respectively.
