[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9051, March 30, 2001 ]

AN ACT CREATING A SEPARATE ENGINEERING DISTRICT IN THE SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT IN THE PROVINCE OF BATANGAS AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Any provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding there shall be created an engineering district of the Department of Public Works and Highways in the Second Congressional District of the Province of Batangas which comprise the City of Batangas and the Municipalities of Bauan, San Pascual, San Luis, Mabini, Lobo and Tingloy.

SEC. 2. The site of the engineering district shall be located in Batangas City, Province of Batangas.

SEC. 3. The Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways is hereby authorized to transfer the records, properties, equipment and materials pertaining to the jurisdiction of the engineering district of the Second Congressional District of Batangas in accordance with the existing laws and regulations.

SEC. 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which is a consolidation of House Bill No. 8772 and Senate Bill No. 2066 was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on February 5, 2001 and January 29, 2001, respectively.
