[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9042, March 22, 2001 ]

AN ACT CREATING A SEPARATE ENGINEERING DISTRICT IN THE SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT IN THE PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREOF



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Any provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, there shall be created an engineering district of the Department of Public Works and Highways in the Second Congressional District of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur, which comprises the municipalities of Dumalinao, Tigbao, Kumalarang, Bayog, Lakewood, San Miguel, Guipos, Dinas, Lapuyan, Vincenzo Sagun, Margosatubig, Tabina, San Pablo, Pitogo and Dimataling.

SEC. 2. The site of the engineering district shall be located in the Municipality of Guipos, Province of Zamboanga del Sur.

SEC. 3. The Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways is hereby authorized to transfer the records, property, equipment, supplies and materials pertaining to the jurisdiction of the engineering district of the Second Congressional District of Zamboanga del Sur in accordance with the existing laws and regulations.

SEC. 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on March 1, 1999 and January 29, 2000, respectively.
