[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9143, July 30, 2001 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING THE BONIFACIO JAVIER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, MANDALUYONG CITY, INTO A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS BONIFACIO JAVIER NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Bonifacio Javier Elementary School, Mandaluyong City, is hereby converted into a national high school to be known as Bonifacio Javier National High School.

SEC. 2. The Secretary of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall immediately prepare the necessary guidelines for the conversion of the said school and to include in its program the operationalization of the Bonifacio Javier National High School, the initial funding of which shall be charged against the current appropriations of the Bonifacio Javier Elementary School and thereafter in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 3. All personnel, records, assets and liabilities of the Bonifacio Javier Elementary School are hereby transferred to and absorbed by the Bonifacio Javier National High School.

SEC. 4. All laws, presidential decrees, executive orders, rules and regulations to the contrary or inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect immediately upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on October 10, 2000 and June 5, 2001, respectively.
