[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8783, April 27, 2000 ]

AN ACT SEPARATING THE QUIRINO GENERAL HIGH SCHOOL - BURGOS ANNEX FROM THE QUIRINO GENERAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CABARROGUIS, PROVINCE OF QUIRINO AND CONVERTING THE SAME INTO AN INDEPENDENT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE BURGOS NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Quirino General High School - Burgos Annex is hereby separated from the Quirino General High School located in the Municipality of Cabarroguis, Province of Quirino and converted into an independent national high school to be known as the Burgos National High School.

SEC. 2. The Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports shall implement this Act and shall take the necessary steps for the conversion of the school.

SEC. 3. The present administrative staffand the incumbent school principal, if qualified, shall automatically become the first administrator of the national high school. The present personnel shall be absorbed into new upgraded positions that may be created in accordance with the needs of the curriculum offerings of the school. They shall receive compensation and privileges equal to their counterparts in existing national high schools in accordance with the Revised Compensation and Position Classification System.

SEC. 4. All assets, fixed and movable, personnel, records and documents of the Quirino General High School - Burgos Annex are hereby transferred to the Burgos National High School.

SEC. 5. The amount necessary for the initial implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Quirino General High School - Burgos Annex. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the continuous operation and maintenance of the Burgos National High School shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 6. All laws, decrees, orders, rules and regulations contrary to or inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed accordingly.

SEC. 7. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on June 3, 1999 and January 26, 2000,  respectively.
