[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8790, May 03, 2000 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING THE BATANES NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL - IVANA BRANCH LOCATED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF IVANA, PROVINCE OF BATANES, INTO AN INDEPENDENT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE IVANA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Batanes National High School - Ivana Branch located in the Municipality of Ivana, Province of Batanes, is hereby converted into an independent national high school to be known as the Ivana National High School under the Department of Education, Culture and Sports.

SEC. 2. All assets, personnel and properties such as buildings, sites and improvements thereof, including fund allocations for the Batanes National High School - Ivana Branch are hereby transferred to the Ivana National High School.

SEC. 3. The Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this Act.

SEC. 4. The amount necessary for the implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Batanes National High School - Ivana Branch. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the operation and maintenance of the Ivana National High School shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on December 8, 1998 and January 26, 2000,  respectively.
