[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8967, September 25, 2000 ]

AN ACT SEPARATING THE TABUK NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, BUAYA ANNEX, IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BALBALAN, PROVINCE OF KALINGA FROM THE TABUK NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TABUK, PROVINCE OF KALINGA AND CONVERTING IT INTO AN INDEPENDENT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE WESTERN KALINGA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Tabuk National High School, Buaya Annex in the Municipality of Balbalan, Province of Kalinga, is hereby separated from the Tabuk National High School in the Municipality of Tabuk and converted into a separate and independent national high school to be known as the Western Kalinga National High School.

SEC. 2. The school shall offer secondary education proper, as well as secondary science courses to carry out its objectives and as may be authorized by the Secretary of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports.

SEC. 3. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.

SEC. 4. All personnel, assets, liabilities and records of the Tabuk National High School, Buaya Annex are hereby transferred to and absorbed by the Western Kalinga National High School.

SEC. 5. The amount necessary for the implementation of this Act shall be charged against the current year's appropriations of the Tabuk National High School, Buaya Annex. Thereafter, such sums as may be necessary for the operation and maintenance of the Western Kalinga National High School shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on April 4, 2000 and June 8, 2000,  respectively.
