[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6726, May 15, 1989 ]

AN ACT ALLOWING QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF ORQUIETA TO VOTE IN PROVINCIAL ELECTIONS OF THE PROVINCE OF MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FIFTY-FIVE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Section One hundred five of Republic Act Numbered Fifty-five hundred and eighteen, entitled "An act Creating the City of Oroquieta," is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 105. Participation in election of provincial officials. — The voters of the City of Oroquieta shall be qualified and entitled to vote in the election of provincial governor, provincial vice-governor, and members of the provincial board of the Province of Misamis Occidental, and any of such qualified voters can be a candidate for any provincial office."
SEC. 2. All existing laws or parts thereof inconsistent with the provision of this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its publication in least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.
