[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6145, November 09, 1970 ]

AN ACT AMENDING SECTIONS ONE AND TWO OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FIFTY FOUR HUNDRED SEVENTY-FOUR (RE PROHIBITION TO CATCH FISH CALLED "IPON" DURING CERTAIN MONTHS OF THE YEAR, ETC.).



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Sections one and two of Republic Act Numbered Fifty-four hundred seventy-four are hereby amended to read as follows:

"SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, association or corporation to catch or cause to be caught, sell, offer to sell, purchase, or have in possession any of the fish specie called "ipon" during the months of September to October and February to March for the whole Province of Ilocos Norte.

"SEC. 2. Any violation of this Act shall be punished by a fine not exceeding two hundred pesos or with imprisonment of not less than six months, or both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.  If the violation is committed by an association or corporation he criminal liability shall devolve upon the president, director, manager or managing partner responsible thereof."

SEC. 2. Any provision of law inconsistent with the provisions of this Act is hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
