[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 4655, June 17, 1966 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING ABRA NATIONAL TRADE SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BANGUED, PROVINCE OF ABRA, INTO A NATIONAL SCHOOL OF ARTS AND TRADES TO BE KNOWN AS THE ABRA SCHOOL OF ARTS AND TRADES, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Abra National Trade School in the Municipality of Bangued, Province of Abra, is hereby converted into a national school of arts and trades to be known as the Abra School of Arts and Trades.  The said school shall be under the supervision of the Bureau of Vocational Education and subject to the provisions of the School Law. Courses of collegiate and secondary levels shall be offered in said school.

SEC. 2. The sum of one hundred forty-thousand three hundred twenty pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the conversion, maintenance and operation of the said school during the fiscal year ending June thirty, nineteen hundred and sixty-six, in addition to the present annual appropriation for the Abra National Trade School.  Thereafter, the sum of three hundred fifty thousand pesos for this school shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 3. Upon the approval of this Act, the Province of Abra shall at once transfer to the National Government, free of charge, all its provincial properties such as the present school site, buildings, materials, equipment, etc.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
