[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5468, May 14, 1969 ]

AN ACT PROVIDING THAT ALL MONEYS IN THE NATURE OF FINES AND COSTS PAID BY PER­SONS CONVICTED FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL OR CITY ORDINANCES SHALL ACCRUE EXCLUSIVELY TO THE MUNICIPALITY OR CITY CONCERNED, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION NINETY-THREE OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED TWO HUNDRED NINE­TY-SIX.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Section ninety-three of Republic Act Num­bered two hundred ninety-six, otherwise known as the Judiciary Act of 1948  is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 93. Moneys paid into municipal or city courts by whom, to be received.—All moneys accruing to the Government in municipal or city courts, including fees, fines, forfeitures, costs, or other miscellaneous receipt, and ail trust or depository funds paid into such courts shall be received by the municipal or city treasurer, or in the City of Manila by the city treasurer, for disposition according to law: Provided, however, That all moneys paid in the nature of fines and costs by persons convicted for violations of municipal or city ordinances shall accrue exclusively to the city, municipality or municipal district in meeting its obligations as defined under sections seventy-four and seventy-five of this Act, as amended.
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
