[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5528, June 21, 1969 ]

AN ACT AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN, KNOWN AS THE CHARTER OF THE PHILIPPINE NORMAL COLLEGE.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Section one of Republic Act Numbered Four hundred sixteen us amended is hereby further amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. The present Philippine Normal School, located in the City of Manila, Philippine is hereby converted into the Philippine Normal College, which will offer not only its present two-year general and three-year combined curricula but also four-year and five-year courses leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Education, and Master of Arts in Education, respectively."
SEC. 2. Section two of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 2. The purpose of the said college shall be to pro­vide professional, technical, and special instruction for special purposes and progressive leadership in the fields of elementary   and secondary education."
SEC. 5. Subparagraph (b) of Section five of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(b) To confer the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Education, and Master of Arts in Education to successful candidates for graduation."
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
