[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11085, September 28, 2018 ]
AN ACT UPGRADING THE DR. PAULINO J. GARCIA MEMORIAL RESEARCH AND MEDICAL CENTER EXTENSION HOSPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF TALAVERA, PROVINCE OF NUEVA ECIJA, TO A LEVEL II HOSPITAL AND INCREASING ITS BED CAPACITY FROM FIFTY (50) TO ONE HUNDRED (100) BEDS TO BE KNOWN AS THE TALAVERA GENERAL HOSPITAL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. The Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center Extension Hospital in the Municipality of Talavera, Province of Nueva Ecija, is hereby upgraded into a Level II Hospital to be now known as the Talavera General Hospital.
The authorized bed capacity of the Talavera General Hospital is hereby increased from fifty (50) to one hundred (100) beds.
The Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH) shall implement the increase in bed capacity of the Talavera General Hospital within a period of five (5) years from the approval of this Act.
SEC. 2. The existing hospital facilities and professional health care services of the Talavera General Hospital are hereby upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to the increase in bed capacity. The number of medical personnel shall be correspondingly increased.
SEC. 3. The Secretary of Health shall immediately include in the Department's program the implementation of this Act, the funding of which shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
SEC. 4. Republic Act No. 8527, increasing the bed capacity of Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center Extension Hospital is hereby repealed. All other laws, decrees, orders, issuances, rules and regulations and parts thereof which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.
SEC. 5. Within sixty (60) days after the approval of this Act, the DOH shall promulgate the necessary rules and regulations for the effective implementation of this Act.
SEC. 6. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on December 11, 2017 and July 24, 2018, respectively.
