AN ACT REQUIRING THE POSTING OF ALL PUBLIC LANDS DECLARED OPEN TO DISPOSITION OR CONCESSION, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION 7 OF COMMONWEALTH ACT NO. 141 AS AMENDED.

Be it enacted by the Batasang Pambansa in session assembled:

SECTION 1. Section seven of Commonwealth Act No. 141 is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Sec. 7. For the purposes of the administration and disposition of alienable or disposable public lands, the Batasang Pambansa or the President, upon recommendation by the Minister of Natural Resources, may from time to time declare what public lands are open to disposition or concession under this Act.

"The Minister of Natural Resources shall cause to be pasted in the barangay hall, the municipal or city hall and the provincial capitol of the barangay, municipality or city and province, respectively, and to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the province or city where the land is situated, a list of public lands declared open to disposition or concession, including those which have already been so declared before the approval of this amendatory Act but which have not yet been disposed of. In addition to the foregoing, the barangay captain shall call a barangay assembly meeting wherein he shall read and/or announce said list, and shall certify to the district officer his compliance with this requirement.

"Such posting and publication shall be made within sixty days from the date of effectivity of this Act, and thereafter, within sixty days from the date any portion of the public land is so declared open to disposition or concession.

"Hereafter no disposition or concession shall be valid unless the required posting and publication shall have been complied with."

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
