[ Act No. 1890, May 10, 1909 ]

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO CONVEY OR LEASE TO THE PROVINCES AND MUNICIPALITIES THE PRIVATE PROPERTY OF THE INSULAR GOVERNMENT.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:

SECTION. 1. In all cases in which the Insular Government owns real property in any province or municipality of the Philippine Islands, and in which the provincial or municipal authorities, as the case may be, desire to acquire or lease the said property, or to exchange for it property belonging to the province of the municipality the Governor-General is hereby authorized and empowered to donate, sell, lease, exchange or in any other manner convey the said property of the Insular Government, or any part thereof, to any province or municipality wherein it may be situated, and upon such terms and conditions as in his discretion may be most convenient for the interest of the Insular government any contracts, deeds, leases, or other instruments which may be necessary to execute the donation, sale, lease, exchange or other conveyance whatsoever of the said property, as aforesaid: Provided however, That this Act shall not be construed to modify or repeal any existing Acts that provide for the sale or lease under certain conditions of public property belonging to the Insular Government.

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
