AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-EIGHT HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FOUR, ENTITLED "AN ACT TO AMEND AND COMPILE THE LAWS RELATIVE TO LANDS OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES," OR COMMONLY KNOWN AS "THE PUBLIC LAND ACT."
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:
SECTION 1. Section one hundred and eighteen of Act Numbered Twenty-eight hundred and seventy-four, known as the Public Land Act, is hereby amended to read as follows:

SECTION 1. Section one hundred and eighteen of Act Numbered Twenty-eight hundred and seventy-four, known as the Public Land Act, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 118. Conveyances and encumbrances made by persons belonging to the so-called 'Non-Christian Tribes,' when proper, shall not be invalid as to those who are literate members of such tribes, but shall not be valid as to those not falling under the class above mentioned, unless duly approved by the Director of the Bureau of Non-Christian Tribes."[1]SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
