[ Acts No. 4176, December 05, 1934 ]

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS TWO AND SIX OF ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY-TWO, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE BOOKKEEPING LAW, AND DECLARING INEFFECTIVE PORTIONS OF SAID ACT INCONSISTENT HEREWITH.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

SECTION 1. Section two of Act Numbered Thirty-two hundred and ninety-two is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
"SEC. 2. All such corporations, companies, partnerships, or persons, who, under section one hereof, are required to keep a journal and a ledger, or their equivalents, but who keep such journal and ledger, or their equivalents, in a language other than English, Spanish, or a native dialect, shall make a true and complete translation of all their entries in such journal, or its equivalent, into English, Spanish, or any native dialect, and the said translation to form an integral part of the books of account aforesaid."
SEC. 2. Section six of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 6. Any violation of the provisions of this Act shall be penalized by a fine not exceeding one thousand pesos or by imprisonment not exceeding six months, or both in the discretion of the court."
SEC. 3. Any part of said Act Numbered Thirty-two hundred and ninety-two inconsistent herewith is hereby declared ineffective.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
