[ Act No. 1340, May 04, 1905 ]

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF HEALTH FOR THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS TO PROMULGATE QUARANTINE REGULATIONS FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF VESSELS ENGAGED IN THE COASTWISE TRADE OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. The Board of Health for the Philippine Islands shall, with the approval of the  Secretary of the Interior, make  and promulgate quarantine regulations for the government of vessels entering all ports of the Philippine islands, except ports of entry, and fix penalties for violations thereof: Provided, however, That such penalties shall in no case exceed a line of live hundred pesos, Philippine currency; such quarantine regulations so made and promulgated shall he published at least once in the Official Gazette, and, upon such publication, they shall have the force and effect of law, and violations thereof may be prosecuted in any court of competent jurisdiction.

SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws,"' passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
