[ Act No. 3309, December 02, 1926 ]

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION SIX OF ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-TWO HUNDRED AND THREE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

SECTION 1. Section six of Act Numbered Thirty-two hundred and three, entitled "An Act relating to the care and custody of neglected and delinquent children; providing probation officers therefor; imposing penalties for violations of its provisions and for other purposes," is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 8. Any institution to which minors are committed in accordance with this Act shall be entitled to receive such sum as may be fixed by the Public "Welfare Commissioner with the approval of the Secretary of the Interior for the care, maintenance, instruction, and reformation of each minor so committed. The expense of the maintenance of minor delinquents shall be borne-by the city or municipality in which the offense was committed, and in case the municipality cannot pay said expenses or part thereof, the province to which the municipality belongs shall pay the same. The expense of the maintenance of minor delinquents who have been confined in any of the institutions mentioned in sections one and two shall be borne in accordance with the provisions of this section: Provided, That the provisions of the Administrative Code, as amended, relative to the classification of prisoners shall not be applicable to minor delinquents: And provided, further, That the court may require the maintenance, in whole or in part, of a minor delinquent committed to any institution in accordance with this Act, by his relatives or those liable and able to support " and educate him."
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on December third, nineteen hundred and twenty-four, the date of the approval of Act Numbered Thirty-two  hundred and three.
