[ Act No. 1291, January 24, 1905 ]

AN ACT SO AMENDING SECTION THIRTY-SIX OF ACT NUMBERED ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-SIX AS TO MAKE FURTHER PROVISION IN REGARD TO THE DISPOSITION OF THE REPORTS OF THE DECISIONS OF THE SUPREME COURT OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. Section thirty-six of Act Numbered One hundred and thirty-six, entitled "An Act providing for the organization of courts in the Philippine Islands," is herein amended so as to read as follows:
"SEC. 36. Disposition of reports.—The volumes, when printed, shall be delivered to the Librarian of the Philippine Commission who shall deliver one copy in English and one copy in Spanish to each of the following officials:

"The Chief Executive of the Philippine Islands,
"Each member of the Philippine Commission,
"Much judge of the Supreme Court of the Philippine Islands,
"Each judge of the Court of First Instance of the Philippine Islands, of the Court of Land Registration, and of the Court of Customs Appeals,
"The clerks of the Supreme Court, of the Courts of First Instance, of Land Registration, and of Customs Appeals,
"Each provincial fiscal,
"Each provincial secretary,
"The Collector of Customs for the Philippine Islands,
"The Auditor for the Philippine Islands,
"The Treasurer of the Philippine Islands,
"The Prosecuting Attorney for the city of Manila, and
"The City Attorney of the city of Manila.

"These volumes shall not he sold or disposed of by the official to whom they are delivered, but shall he public property appertaining to the several offices named and remain as a part of the public documents thereof for the use of the successors, of the officials named and of the public. At least ten copies shall be retained at all times in the library of the Philippine Commission and ten copies shall be sent to the Library of Congress at Washington, District of Columbia, and one copy to the Chief of the Bureau of Insular Affairs, Washington District of Columbia. Other volumes may be disposed of to other officials or organizations within or without the Philippine Islands when so authorized by a resolution of the Philippine Commission. The volumes above the number so authorized for distribution as above provided shall be kept for exchange and for sale by the Librarian of the Philippine Commission, the proceeds of such sales to be turned into the Insular Treasury as miscellaneous receipts. The price of the volumes shall be fixed by the Reporter of the Decisions of the Supreme Court, the Auditor for the Philippine Islands, and the Secretary of Finance and Justice."
SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance, with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
