[ Act No. 1286, January 23, 1905 ]

AN ACT SO AMENDING ACT NUMBERED EIGHTY-TWO, KNOWN AS THE MUNICIPAL CODE, AS TO AUTHORIZE PROVINCIAL BOARDS TO ORDER SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS WHEN FOR ANY REASON ELECTIONS ARE NOT HELD AS BY SAID ACT PROVIDED.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. Paragraph (b) of section thirteen of Act Numbered Eighty-two, known as the Municipal Code, is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following: "If, for any reason, an election is not held as by this Act provided, the provincial board may order a special election in such municipality."

SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same, is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect, on its passage, but shall be retroactive so far as necessary to authorize the provincial board of any province to order a special election in any municipality in which, through error, no election was held in December, nineteen hundred find four, as provided by the Municipal Code.
