[ Act No. 1118, April 26, 1904 ]

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF THE BUREAU OF PUBLIC LANDS TO ADMINISTER OATHS, EXAMINE WITNESSES, AND SEND OR PERSONS AND PAPERS; AND PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON WHO SHALL WILLFULLY AND KNOWINGLY MAKE ANY FALSE AFFIDAVIT OR OATH TO ANY MATERIAL FACT OR MATTER BEFORE HIM SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF PERJURY AND PUNISHED ACCORDINGLY.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. The Chief of the Bureau of Public Lauds shall, in performing all duties require of him have authority In administer oaths, examine witnesses, and send for persons and papers; and any person who shall willfully and knowingly make any false affidavit or oath to any material fart or matter before him shall be deemed guilty of perjury and on conviction shall be punished as for such offense.

SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
