AN ACT TO REMIT THE BOND OF ONE THOUSAND PESOS GIVEN BY NICOLAS LIMCAOCO AND ISABELO ALIPIT IN THE CASE OF THE PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS VERSUS EXEQUIEL ALIPIT

Whereas  the bond of one thousand pesos given by Nicolas Limcaoco and Isabelo Alipit for the defendant in the case of The People of the Philippine Islands vs. Exequiel Alipit, in the Court of First Instance of Laguna, has been declared forfeited for the reason that the defendant failed to appear at the hearing of the case;

Whereas the failure of the defendant to so appear was due to a bona fide error and not to any voluntary or malicious act on his part;

Whereas the defendant Exequiel Alipit later appeared in court and, upon conviction, suffered the penalty imposed by the Court:  Now, therefore,

Be it enacted by  the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

SECTION 1. The bond of  one thousand pesos  given by Nicolas Limcaoco and Isabelo Alipit for the  defendant in the case of  The  People of  the Philippine Islands  versus Exequiel Alipit and declared forfeited by the Court of First Instance of Laguna, is hereby declared totally remitted.

SEC. 2.  This Act shall take effect on its approval.

Approved, March 6, 1924.
