[ Act No. 1581, December 22, 1906 ]

AN ACT TO EQUALIZE AND SECURE UNIFORMITY IN SALARIES OF PROVINCIAL GOVERNORS AND TREASURERS.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. On and after January first, nineteen hundred and seven, the salaries of the provincial governors and provincial treasurers in the provinces hereinafter named shall be as follows:
(a) In the Provinces of Cebu, Iloilo, and Pangasinan, six  thousand pesos per annum each;
(b) In the Provinces of Albay, Ambos Camarines, Bnlacan, Ilocos Sur, La Laguna, Leyte, Occidental Negros, Pampanga, and Tayabas, five thousand pesos per annum  each;
(c) In the Provinces of Batangas, Bohol, Cagayan, Rizal, Samar, and Sorsogon, four thousand five hundred pesos per annum each;
(d) In the Provinces of Capiz, Cavite, Ilocos Norte, La Union, Misamis, Nueva Ecija, Oriental Negros, Surigao, and Tarlac, four thousand pesos per annum each; and
(a) In the Provinces of Antique, Bataan, Isabela, Romblon, and Zambales, three thousand pesos per annum each:

Provided, however, That if the provincial governor or provincial treasurer in any of the foregoing provinces is now receiving a salary greater than that herein fixed, this Act shall not apply to such official during its present term of office but shall take effect as to such office upon the qualification of his successor.
SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
