[ Act No. 334, January 25, 1902 ]

AN ACT AMENDING SECTIONS THREE AND NINE OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE AND SECTION FOUR OF THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT ACT, SO FAR AS CONCERNS THE PROVINCE OF ORIENTAL NEGROS.

By authority of the President of the United States, be it enacted by the United States Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. Sections three and nine of the Municipal Code are hereby amended as follows:

(a) By adding at the close of section three of said Act the following words: "In the Province of Oriental Negros, the seats of the councilors of the first class, as divided by lot, shall for the year nineteen hundred and two be vacated on the first day of April, nineteen hundred and two, or when their successors are duly chosen and qualified."

(b) By adding at the close of paragraph (a), section nine, of said Act the following words: "In the Province of Oriental Negros, the general municipal elections for nineteen hundred and two shall be held on Saturday, the first of March, nineteen hundred and two, and the councilors so elected shall enter upon their duties on the first of April following and hold office until the first Monday of January, nineteen hundred and four, or until their successors are duly elected and qualified."

SEC. 2. Section four of the Provincial Government Act is hereby amended by adding at the close thereof the following words: "In the Province of Oriental Negros the elections for provincial governor for nineteen hundred and two shall be held on Tuesday, the third of April, nineteen hundred and two."

SEC. 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
