AN ACT AMENDING SECTION FIVE OF ACT NUMBERED SEVENTY-FOUR, ESTABLISHING A DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION, AS AMENDED, BY AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION, WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE SECRETARY OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION, TO CHANGE, INCREASE, OR DECREASE THE EXISTING SCHOOL DIVISIONS OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS.
By authority of the United Stales, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:
SECTION 1. Section five of Act Numbered Seventy-four, establishing a Department of Public Instruction, as amended by Act Numbered Thirteen hundred and thirty-seven, is hereby further amended by adding at the end thereof the following proviso:
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
Enacted, October 5, 1906.
SECTION 1. Section five of Act Numbered Seventy-four, establishing a Department of Public Instruction, as amended by Act Numbered Thirteen hundred and thirty-seven, is hereby further amended by adding at the end thereof the following proviso:
"Provided. That the Director of Education, with the approval of the secretary or Public Instruction, may change, increase, or decrease the school divisions herein established whenever in his judgment the public interests so require."SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act proscribing the order of procedure by the , Commission in the enactment of laws,'' passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
