AN ACT TO AMEND SUBSECTION (D) OF SECTION TWENTY-TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY-THREE OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-SEVEN HUNDRED AND ELEVEN, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF AUTHORIZING MUNICIPAL COUNCILS TO CHANGE THE NAMES OF STREETS, AVENUES, AND OTHER PUBLIC PLACES

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

SECTION 1. Subsection (d) of section twenty-two hundred  and forty-three of Act Numbered Twenty-seven hundred and eleven, commonly known as the Administrative Code of the Philippine Islands, is hereby amended to read as follows:

"SEC. 2243. Certain legislative powers of discretionary character.—The municipal council shall have authority to exercise the following discretionary powers:

"(d) To provide for the numbering of houses and lots; the naming of streets, avenues, and other public places and, subject to the approval of the provincial board, the changing of the names thereof; and for the lighting of streets, and the sprinkling of the same."

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
