[ Act No. 2555., January 31, 1916 ]

AN ACT CONSTRUING THE PROVISIONS OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY, AS AMENDED BY ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-FOUR HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-EIGHT TO INCLUDE CERTAIN LANDS AND BUILDINGS BELONGING TO THE HOSPITAL AND FOUNDATION OF SAN LAZARO.

Whereas, Act Numbered Twenty-three hundred and sixty, as amended by Act Numbered Twenty-four hundred and seventy-eight, provides "for the sale of the land known as the San Lazaro Estate, in the city of Manila;" and

Whereas, in addition to that tract or parcel of land commonly known as the "San Lazaro Estate," there are certain detached parcels of land, with buildings constructed thereon, owned in fee simple by the hospital and foundation of San Lazaro; and

Whereas, the purpose of the said Acts is to provide for the disposition of all real property belonging to the said hospital and foundation of San Lazaro, in order that the proceeds therefrom may be invested in the manner and for the purpose in said Acts provided: Now, therefore,

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:

SECTION 1. The provisions of Act Numbered Twenty-three hundred and sixty, as amended by Act Numbered Twenty-four hundred and seventy-eight, authorizing the sale of the lands known as the San Lazaro Estate, in the city of Manila, are and shall be construed to include all such lands and buildings, owned in fee simple by the hospital and foundations of San Lazaro as defined and set forth in section three of Act Numbered Seventeen hundred and twenty-four, as have heretofore been leased to private persons.

SEC. 2. The effect of the provisions of this Act shall be retroactive so as to include contracts of sale executed in accordance with Act numbered Twenty-three hundred and sixty, as amended by Act Numbered Twenty-four hundred and seventy-eight, prior to the first day of July, nineteed hundred and fifteen.
