[ Act No. 2562., February 03, 1916 ]

AN ACT AMENDING SECTION TWENTY-THREE OF ACT NUMBERED THIRTEEN HUNDRED AND NINETY-SIX, ENTITLED "THE SPECIAL PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT ACT" BY REORGANIZING THE PROVINCIAL BOARD OF NUEVA VIZCAYA, PROVIDING FOR THE ELECTION OF A THIRD MEMBER, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:

SECTION 1. Subsection (c) of section twenty-three of Act Numbered Thirteen hundred and ninety-six, entitled "The Special Provincial Government Act," is hereby amended to read as follows:

"(c) The provincial governor, the provincial secretary treasurer, and an elective third member shall constitute the provincial board of the Province of Nueva Vizcaya: Provided, however, That the first third member shall have the same qualifications and shall be elected in the same form and manner as provided in the election law for provincial officers, and at the same time as the election held for said officers in other provinces.

"The third member of the provincial board shall receive a compensation, to be fixed by resolution of the provincial board, of not less than five nor more than fifteen pesos for each day of actual attendance at the sessions of the board and shall be entitled to the reimbursement of his traveling expenses while on official business. The per diem of the third member, when fixed by the provincial board, shall not be altered more than once during each fiscal year. It shall not be necessary for the third member of the provincial board to reside at the capital of the province or to establish an office in the provincial building. For the purposes of this Act all of the townships of the Province of Nueva Vizcaya ; shall be considered as municipalities and their councils shall perform the functions conferred upon municipal councils by the election law regarding the elections of the third vocal, the expenses of the election, being paid, however, from provincial funds."

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
