[ Act No. 2546., January 10, 1916 ]

AN ACT MAKING APPROPRIATION FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF H.C. HEAD FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO HOTEL PINES, BAGUIO, UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of sixteen thousand five hiundred eleven pesos and fifty seven centavos for the reimbursement of H. C. Heald for expenditures made by him in the improvement of the Hotel Pines in the city of Baguio, Mountain Province, said Hotel being the property of the Insular Government.

SEC. 2. The Insular Treasurer, before paying to the said H.C. Heald the sum approriated for his benefit in the foregoing section, shall require of the said H.C. Heald, the execution of a bond with sufficient sureties in the penal sum of fifteen thousand pesos, conditioned upon the payment by the said H.C. Heald of all claims for labor and material purnished or used by him in the improvement of said The Hotel Pines in the city of Baguio, Mountain Province, and shall likewise require the said H.C. Heald to execute assignment in favor of the Government of the Philippine Islands of all his rights or claims against the Hotel Pines, Limited, a corporation organized under the laws of the Philippine Islands, and lessee of said The Hotel Pines, for the payment by the Hotel Pines, Limited, of improvements made upon the said hotel property.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
