[ Act No. 2663., June 19, 1916 ]

AN ACT APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF THIRTY-NINE THOUSAND PESOS FOR PUBLIC HOSPITALS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF MINDANAO AND SULU, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated, out of any funds m the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of thirty-nine thousand pesos for the following purposes of the public health service, except as otherwise stated, in the Department of Mindanao and Sulu:

For combating epidemic diseases                   P6,000.00
For construction and equipment of an operating room and the screening of windows of wards in the Lanao Public Hospital      4,000.00
For completing the construction and equipment of a hospital for contagious diseases at Zamboanga                             13,000.00
For completing the construction and equipment of the Cotabato Public Hospital .                                         6,000.00
For the necessary repair of the public building in which Dr. Jose Rizal was for a time donfined at Dapitan and the equipment of suitable portion thereof as a public dispensary and ward for the extension of medical and surgical relief to the public, the institution to be known as "Rizal Memorial Hospital"                                          5,000.00
For continuing the work of improvement of the Rizal memorial Park at Dapitan .                                                  5,000.00
Total                                             39,000.00

SEC. 2 The sum above appropriated shall be available for their respective purposes until expended and upon the completion of the projects stated balances remaining shall be covered back into the Insular Treasury to the account of unapproriated funds.

SEC. 3. This Act take effect on its passage.
