[ Act No. 2638., February 24, 1916 ]
AN ACT APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF SIXTY-ONE THOUSAND PESOS FOR DISTRIBUTION AMONG THE MUNICIPALITIES IN WHICH THE LAND, TAX FOR THE FISCAL YEAR NINETEEN HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN MAY BE REMITTED ON ACCOUNT OF DAMAGE CAUSED BY TYPHOONS.
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:
SECTION 1. The sum of sixty-one thousand pesos, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for distribution, in the discretion of the Governor-General, for school purposes, among the municipalities in which, on account of the great losses caused to the crops by typhoons during the year nineteen hundred and fifteen, it may be necessary to dispense with the collection of the municipal portion for school purposes of the land tax for nineteen hundred and sixteen.
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
