[ Act No. 2753, February 23, 1918 ]
AN ACT AUTHORIZING PROVINCIAL BOARDS TO ESTABLISH AND MANAGE IRRIGATION SYSTEMS, AND PROVIDING FUNDS FOR THIS PURPOSE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:
SECTION 1. Subject to the provisions of existing law, the Secretary of Commerce and Communications may authorize the provincial board of any of the regularly organized provinces to proceed to the construction of an irrigation system, and in this case the provincial board concerned may, with the approval of the Secretary of the Interior, appropriate for irrigation purposes any sum not to exceed twenty-five per centum of its road and bridge fund.
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
