[ Act No. 742, April 08, 1903 ]

AN ACT PROVIDING THAT THE CLERK OF THE SUPREME COURT AND THE CLERKS OF COURTS OF FIRST INSTANCE AS EX OFFICIO NOTARIES PUBLIC, AND OTHER OFFICERS, SHALL ADMINISTER OATHS TO GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES IN THE PERFORMANCE OF OFFICIAL DUTIES WITHOUT CHARGE.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. The clerk of the Supreme Court and clerks of Courts of First Instance in their capacities as ex officio notaries public, and all officers of the Government of the Philippine Islands or of the various provincial governments who are ex officio notaries public or authorized by law to administer oaths for general purposes, are hereby empowered and directed to administer oaths and execute certificates required by officers and employees of the Government in the performance of their official duties without charge for so doing, and without cost to the officer or employee of whom such oath or certificate is required.

SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
