[ Act No. 2358, February 28, 1914 ]

AN ACT AMENDING ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-THREE, ENTITLED "AN ACT CREATING A "COMMISSION TO SECURE, ORGANIZE, AND MAKE AN EXHIBIT OF PHILIPPINE PRODUCTS, MANUFACTURES, ART, ETHNOLOGY, AND EDUCATION AT THE PANAMA-PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION TO BE HELD AT SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, IN THE UNITED STATES, IN NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN, MAKING- AN APPROPRIATION THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES," BY AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF MONEY BY PROVINCES AND MUNICIPALITIES FOR THE PREPARATION OF PROVINCIAL EXHIBITS FOR THE PHILIPPINE SECTION OF THE PANAMA-PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:

SECTION 1. Section four of Act Numbered Twenty-one hundred and sixty-three is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof, the following:
"Provincial and municipal governments are hereby authorized to appropriate moneys from their respective general funds, subject to the approval of the Executive Secretary, to be deposited with the provincial treasurer to the credit of a special fund to be known as the 'Panama-Pacific exhibition fund.' Such fund shall be subject to the control of the provincial board and shall be utilized in its discretion to enable the province to make a creditable exhibit at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition. All provincial exhibits shall be subject to the approval of the Board, and when accepted shall constitute a part of the Philippine exhibit. At the close of the Exposition, all provincial exhibits shall be disposed of in the manner provided in this section: Provided, That all moneys received from the sale or other disposition of a provincial exhibit shall be returned to the province to which such exhibit pertains."
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
