[ Act No. 2374, February 28, 1914 ]

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF AGRICULTURE TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF THE PRESENT HERDS OF LARGE CATTLE, SHEEP, GOATS, AND SWINE MAINTAINED BY THE BUREAU OF AGRICULTURE FOR BREEDING PURPOSES, AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF TEN THOUSAND PESOS FOR THAT PURPOSE.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:

SECTION 1. The Director of Agriculture is hereby authorized to increase the present number of herds of large cattle, sheep, goats, and swine, at present maintained by the Bureau of Agriculture for breeding purposes, which, together with their offspring, may from time to time be sold to the public for breeding purposes, in accordance with existing rules and regulations in the premises.

SEC. 2. The sum of ten thousand pesos is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to carry out the provisions of this Act, such sum to be expended for the purchase and maintenance of the necessary and suitable breeds, as may be determined by the Director of Agriculture, with the approval of the Secretary of Public Instruction.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
