[ Act No. 220, September 05, 1901 ]

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION TWENTY-FOUR OF THE CIVIL SERVICE ACT BY REQUIRING THAT AMENDMENTS TO THE RULES ADOPTED BY THE BOARD SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE CIVIL GOVERNOR.

By authority of the President of the United States, be it enacted by the United States Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. Section twenty-four of the Civil Service Act is hereby amended by striking out the following sentence: "The rules to be prepared and. certified by the Board shall be promulgated by executive order of the Military Governor," and inserting in lieu thereof the following: "The rules to be prepared and certified by the Board shall not take effect until approved by the Civil Governor, when they shall he promulgated by his executive order."

SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
