AN ACT TO REPEAL SUBSECTION (E) OF SECTION EIGHTEEN (A) OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY-NINE, AS AMENDED; TO INCREASE THE SUBORDINATE PERSONNEL OF THE GENERAL LAND REGISTRATION OFFICE IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE JUDGES ASSIGNED TO REGISTRATION AND CADASTRAL WORK; TO APPROPRIATE FOR THIS PURPOSE THE SUM OF THIRTY-FOUR THOUSAND AND FIVE HUNDRED PESOS, FOR SALARIES AND TRAVELING EXPENSES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives g of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

SECTION 1. Subsection (e) of section eighteen (a) of Act Numbered Twenty-two hundred and fifty-nine, as amended by Act Numbered Three thousand and eighty-one, is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. The Secretary of Justice, upon recommendation of the Chief of the General Land Registration Office, is pot hereby authorized to appoint the necessary number of temporary employees at salaries not to exceed twelve hundred pesos per annum each, to assist the judges of Courts of First Instance designated to try and decide registration and cadastral cases.

Preference in selection for appointment of this new personnel shall be given to law graduates and persons who are rendering or have rendered service in the General Land Registration Office.

SEC. 3. The sum of thirty-four thousand and five hundred pesos is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purposes of this Act shall be disbursed as follows:

For salaries and traveling expenses of the present temporary employees for the months of October, November, and December, nineteen hundred and twenty-seven

For salaries and traveling expenses of the employees appointed in accordance with this Act for the year nineteen hundred and twenty-eight

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
