[ Act No. 3600, November 29, 1929 ]

AN ACT TO ABOLISH THE PRESUMPTION ESTABLISHED IN FAVOR OF THE MASTER WITH REFERENCE TO THE PROOF OF CERTAIN FACTS IN THE RELATIONS BETWEEN MASTER AND DOMESTIC SERVANT, AMENDING THE CIVIL CODE ACCORDINGLY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

SECTION 1. Section fifteen hundred and eighty-four of the Civil Code is hereby amended to read as follows:   

"SEC. 1584. A domestic servant hired for a definite period and to be employed in the personal service of his master, or of the family of the latter, may leave the service or be discharged before the expiration of the term; but if the master dismisses the servant without sufficient cause, he shall indemnify him by paying him fifteen days wages in addition to the wages due.   

"The amount of the wages of the domestic servant and the payment of the wages earned by him shall be established by the means of evidence recognized by law." 

SEC. 2. All acts and provisions of law inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed. 

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
