[ Act No. 3122, December 27, 1923 ]

AN ACT AUTHORIZING ADDITIONAL COMPANIES OF CONSTABULARY, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

SECTION 1. The sum of two hundred eighty-eight thousand fifty-two pesos, Philippine currency, is hereby appropriated out of such funds in the Insular Treasury as are not otherwise appropriated to finance the organization and maintenance for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and twenty-four of additional forces of Constabulary, as follows:

OFFICERS

Seven first lieutenants, at P2,400 per annum each P16,800.00  
Seven second lieutenants, at P2,000 per annum each 14,000.00  

ENLISTED MEN

Seven first sergeants, at P480 per annum each 3,360.00  
Twenty-one sergeants, at P360 per annum each 7,560.00  
Thirty-five corporals, at P264 per annum each 9,240.00  
Two hundred fifty-five privates for general service, at P168 per annum each 42,840.00  
One hundred two privates for station service, at P156 per annum each 15,912.00  
Initial clothing allowance for 420 men, at P48 each 20,160.00  
Subsistence allowance for 420 men, at 40 centavos daily 61,320.00  
Clothing allowance for 420 men, at 20 centavos daily 30,660.00  
Rental and commutation of quarters for officers 5,040.00  
Traveling expenses, freight, and consumption of supplies and materials 20,000.00  
For equipment, such as rifles, haversacks, etc. of 420 men 41,160.00  

SEC. 2. The sum of not to exceed seventeen thousand eight hundred eight pesos to cover salaries and wages, subsistence and clothing allowances and traveling expenses of the officers and men herein authorized for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and twenty-three is hereby appropriated and the sums appropriated for "initial clothing allowance," and "equipment" are hereby made available at once.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
