[ Act No. 3213, December 06, 1924 ]

AN ACT MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same: 

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as may be necessary, are hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be at the disposal of the Director of Public Works, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Commerce and Communications and the provisions hereinafter set forth for the purposes mentioned hereunder.

SEC. 2. All balances of the several appropriations made by this Act the destination of which has not been determined by proper authority on June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and twenty-five, and all balances of appropriations which remain unexpended on June thirtieth, nineteen hundred and twenty-six, shall revert to the unappropriated funds in the Insular Treasury, and thereafter shall not be available for expenditure except upon appropriation by the Legislature. 

SEC. 3. The sums appropriated by paragraphs  (l), (p),  (q),  (r), (s),  (t), (u), (y), (aa),  and (bb) shall be distributed in the discretion of the Secretary of Commerce and Communications, but those appropriated in the other paragraphs shall be available for immediate expenditure by the Director of Public Works. 

SEC. 4. The funds appropriated by Act Numbered Three thousand one hundred thirteen, section one, paragraph (h),  and reallotted under the provisions of section three of said Act, under date February twenty-second, nineteen hundred twenty-four, as follows, are hereby made available and their release is also hereby authorized: Improvement and repairs of Cabatuan   

San Miguel Road, Iloilo

Construction of the Ajuy-Barotac Viejo Road via Culasi, Iloilo

Construction of the Tigbauan-Leon Road via Cordoba, Iloilo

Completion of the Lucena-Dumangas Road, Iloilo

Improvement and repairs of the Cabatuan-Maasin Road, Iloilo

Improvement and repairs of the Maasin-Alimodian Road, Iloilo

47,000.00
 

SEC. 5. The fund appropriated by Act Numbered Thirty one hundred thirteen, section one, paragraph (to), author­ized and allotted under date of April twenty-fourth, one thousand nine hundred twenty-four, under the provisions of section three of the same Act, is hereby made available as follows: 

For the construction of river banks protection at Igbaras, Province of Iloilo ............ P20,000.00 

SEC. 6. The funds appropriated in section one, paragraph (i), of Act Numbered Thirty-one hundred forty-five are hereby made available for the purchase of an adequate site at Macati, Rizal, or elsewhere, and the construction of buildings thereon for the Government Orphanage and other institutions under the Public Welfare Commissioner. 

SEC. 7. This Act shall take effect on January first, nineteen hundred and twenty-five.
