[ Commonwealth Act No. 693, October 15, 1945 ]

AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR A LIFE PENSION FOR DONA AURORA ARAGON DE QUEZON, WIDOW OF THE LATE PRESIDENT MANUEL L. QUEZON.

WHEREAS, Manuel L. Quezon, late President of the Philippines, dedicated his life and labors in the service of his country;

WHEREAS, Dona Aurora Aragon de Quezon, widow of the late President, shared with him all the trials and tribulations of public life; and

WHEREAS, is recognition of the great services which the late President and his widow had rendered to their country and people, it is but proper that fitting testimony of the public gratitude be extended to Dona Aurora Aragon de Quezon; Now therefore,

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Dona Aurora Aragon de Quezon, widow of the late President, is hereby granted a life pension of twelve thousand pesos per annum, payable in equal monthly installment, effective upon her arrival in the Philippines from the United States.

SEC. 2. The sum necessary to pay said pension during the fiscal year nineteen hundred and forty six is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Philippine Treasury not otherwise appropriated. Thereafter, the sum necessary shall be included in the General Appropriation Act.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
