TO:	The Chairman Price Control Council

WHEREAS, Presidential Decree No. 234, dated July 5, 1973, extended the effectivity of Republic Act No. 6361, otherwise known as the Price Control Law, up to June 30, 1975;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 18 (s. 73) of the National Economic and Development Authority which I have approved on March 14, 1973, the scope of price control is limited to certain basic commodities that are consumed by the low-income consumers, specifically enumerated in said Resolution:

WHEREAS, the prices of paper products used either as raw materials or for packaging and labeling such as, but not limited to, newsprint, local bond paper, paper board, card board, corrugated board, carton, labeling materials, and paper strips, have unreasonably risen so that prices of socialized or controlled consumers' commodities which utilize said paper have likewise increased, and these prices, if not controlled, will cause intolerable burdens to consumers;

NOW, THEREFORE, in order to regulate the unreasonable increases in the prices of paper products utilized by socialized or controlled commodities, either as raw materials, or for packaging, packing and labeling, such as, but not limited to, newsprint, local bond paper, paper board, card board, carton, corrugated board, labeling materials, and paper strips, these paper products shall be considered as included within the scope of price control and, therefore, added to the list of commodities enumerated in NEDA Resolution No. 18 (s. 73), subject to maximum price ceilings to be determined by the Price Control Council in accordance with the Price Control Law and said Resolution.
