[ LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 281, May 26, 1975 ]

SUBJECT :
Further Amending Letter of Instructions No. 265 Creating the Performance Audit Team on local Elective Officials

WHEREAS, by virtue of LOI No. 265, a Performance Audit of Local elective officials is being conducted;

WHEREAS, this Performance Audit is intended to enable the President to make the decision on which local officials to retain after the expiration of their terms of office on December 31, 1975;

WHEREAS, the deadline for submission of the final Performance Audit reports to the President shall not be later than August 31, 1975;

WHEREAS, to attain this aim and to ensure an effective and just prosecution of this project, it is imperative that there be cooperation of all government agencies and instrumentalities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and direct that:
  1. All agencies and instrumentalities of the government whose participation in this project may be asked for, should cooperate with the Performance Audit Team and its designated Regional and Provincial Audit Teams, and

  2. Member departments of the Performance Audit Team shall assign thereto such personnel as may be deemed necessary; and for this purpose, shall respectively provide them with all the necessary facilities and underwrite all travelling expenses and per diems to be incurred by their personnel in performance audit activities.
These instructions shall be effective immediately.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 26th day of May, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Five.
