JOINT COMMUNIQUÉ ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO

The Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, guided by a mutual desire to develop fraternal ties of friendship and cooperation in the political, economic, humanitarian and other fields, have agreed to establish diplomatic relations in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 18 April 1961 and relevant principles and norms of the United Nations Charter and International Law.

The Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago are fully convinced that the establishment of diplomatic relations corresponds to the mutual interests of the two States and will further strengthen international peace and security.

In witness whereof, the undersigned representatives, duly authorized by their respective Governments, have signed this Joint Communique in two originals, both in the English language.

Done in New York on 18 April 2000.
