PROTOCOL OF THE SEVENTH SESSION ON SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL COOPERATION BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA
The list of delegates of the Republic of the Philippines and the People's Republic of China appear as Annex I.
The two parties reviewed with satisfaction the implementation of the scientific and technical cooperation programme for the year 1984 and exchanged views on the further development and strengthening of scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries.
As a result of friendly consultations, the two Parties reached the following agreements on matters concerning the scientific and technical cooperation programme for 1985:
1. The Republic of the Philippines agrees to the undertaking of the Chinese projects as outlined in Annex III to this Protocol;
2. The People's Republic of China agrees to the undertaking of the Philippine projects as outlined in Annex II to this Protocol;
3. The Party which sends the study groups/experts shall bear the travel expenses of such groups to and from the country of the receiving Party. The receiving Party shall bear the expenses for the food, accommodation, medical care and internal transport of such groups;
4. Seeds, seedlings, specimens and similar materials for experiments, as well as technical information and data, shall be exchanged by the two Parties free of charge and shall be delivered by the providing Party to the Embassy of the receiving Party with relevant transfer of documents to be signed by the representatives of the two Parties ; and
5. Other projects and/or activities on scientific and technical cooperation, agreement on which could not be reached during this session, or those which may be proposed by either Party in the course of implementing this Protocol may, by mutual agreement through diplomatic channels, be implemented in the 1985 programme year and shall be included for record purposes in the Protocol of the next session.
The two Parties also agreed that each Party, in addition to presenting requests, may offer projects and/or activity proposals on scientific and technical cooperation for the consideration of the other Party.
The two Parties further agreed that the Eighth Session on the Philippine-Chinese Scientific and Technical Cooperation shall be held in Beijing in the first half of 1986 at a date to be set through diplomatic channels.
Annexes I, II and III shall form integral parts of this Protocol.
