AGREED MINUTES

With the view towards achieving the objectives of the Agreement on Trade and Economic Co-operation Between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines signed in Manila on December 5th, 1997, the two representatives of both Governments would like to specify the co-operation in the field of tourism as a factor of economic development and understanding between nations and

Have agreed on the following:

1.The participants shall promote bilateral tourism in accordance with the laws and regulations of their respective states by encouraging their own tourists to visit each other's state; between the firms and organizations of the two states involved in tourism;

2. The participants shall encourage within the framework of the above mentioned Agreement the dissemination and exchange of information related to tourism. The participants shall encourage the exchange of delegations of experts in the field of tourism with the purpose of being acquainted with the tourism infrastructure and also the view of carrying on tourism activities.

3. The participants shall exchange tourist promotional materials and shall encourage the participation of travel agencies and other companies from the field of tourism in commercial and cultural tourism events organized by the two states. All advertising and documentary materials as well as samples of these in such quantity and such dimensions or construction as to make them impossible to sell or not having commercial value, all being destined for tourism exhibitions shall, in so far as permissible in the host state, be exempted from taxation. However, if such materials are sold in the importing state, they shall be liable to the payment of duties and taxes, according to the customs and taxes regulation of that state.

4. The participants shall explore the possibilities of joint collaboration for investment in the tourism sector and shall inform each other about the investment conditions provided by national legislation of each state. The participants shall encourage the competent bodies and interested organizations to set up joint ventures and other investment projects in the field of tourism in accordance with their respective laws and regulations.

5. The participants, through their competent bodies and interested organizations, shall consider the possibilities for the expansion of technical co-operation in the field of education and training for the tourism sector, especially for personnel engaged in the tourism industry.

6. The expenses incurred during the implementation of this Agreed minutes shall be borne by the participants as follows:

Visits and Exchanges - the sending Party shall be responsible for the expenses incurred by his delegation.

All other activities of co-operation - the expenses for all other activities shall be subject to the mutual agreement of the participants in accordance with the legislation of each state.

Signed at Manila, on 12th day of June 1998, in two originals, in the English and Slovene languages, both texts being equally authentic.
