MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE COMMISSION OF HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PROVINCE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA
WHEREAS the Parties are mindful of the special cordiality that exists between the Governments; private sectors, and peoples of the Republic of the Philippines and the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
WHEREAS the Parties seek to enhance and perpetuate the special relationships that have been developed in the field of higher education between the Ministry, departments and educational institutions of the Republic of the Philippines and the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
Now, THEREFORE, the Parties have reached an understanding to promote and participate in co-operation between their constituencies in matters of higher education, training, their planning and policy-making, and in other matters of human resource development and enhanced quality of life.
Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Parties will encourage and assist cooperation in human resource development between universities, university colleges, community colleges, provincial institutes and the Open Learning Agency in British Columbia and equivalent institutions in the Philippines.
The Memorandum of Understanding may be cited in any undertaking that complies with its terms, between any constituent of the Government of the Province of British Columbia, Canada and the Commission on Higher Education of the Republic of the Philippines.
The Memorandum of Understanding takes effect upon signing and will remain in effect unless amended by mutual agreement, or terminated by either Party upon 90 days notice to the other.
